Joe R. Cortina

Joe R. Cortina brings decades of experience and a deep connection to the Tolleson community in his first term as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner. A lifelong resident, Joe has lived in Tolleson for over 50 years, with his family rooted in the community for more than 60 years.

Currently employed at Tolleson Elementary School, Joe has served in this role for the past two and a half years. He retired from the  Maricopa County Adult Probation Office, where he dedicated nearly 30 years to public service and specialized in criminal background investigations. He is a proud graduate of Tolleson Union High School and attended a professional development program at Northern Arizona University.

Joe has coached Little League baseball and is a first-time volunteer with the City of Tolleson. His decision to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission comes from a desire to have a voice in shaping the future of Tolleson. His goal is to contribute to the city's beauty, growth, and thoughtful development.

Married for 27 years and a proud father of four boys, Joe is committed to helping ensure that Tolleson continues to be a great place for future generations.
