Diana L. Ruiz is a proud lifelong resident of Tolleson, Arizona, with deep family roots in the community. The daughter of longtime Tolleson residents Mr. and Mrs. Demencio Ledesma, Diana comes from a large family of seven siblings, many of whom also continue to call Tolleson home. Now 63 years old, Diana remains dedicated to serving the city that has shaped her life.
A graduate of Tolleson Union High School, Diana began her public service in 2005 when she was appointed to the City of Tolleson Planning and Zoning Commission. She has served for nearly two decades, including terms as both Chair and Vice Chair. Committed to growing in her role, Diana has attended numerous training sessions, including ethics and law classes led by the city attorney, to better support the needs of the community.
In addition to her service on the commission, Diana has been active in the Maricopa County Precinct Committee since 2022. She also serves as Treasurer for the local St. Vincent de Paul chapter and has been a dedicated Vincentian for more than three years. Diana is a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, a national organization that supports charitable causes through service and stewardship.
Outside of her civic and volunteer responsibilities, Diana enjoys spending quality time with her significant other and family. She stays active through Zumba and finds joy in tending to her garden—both sources of balance and fulfillment.
With a lifelong passion for helping others, Diana remains committed to making Tolleson a stronger, more vibrant community for generations to come.
