Council Member Christine Chavira: A dedicated 20-year resident of Tolleson, passionate about building community and fostering inclusion. Though not born here, Christine proudly married into the Chavira family, a pillar of Tolleson's history, with roots dating back to one of the first families to settle on Polk Street—where she and her husband, Lupe, still reside today. Together, they’ve raised three children and are blessed with six grandchildren.
With nearly 30 years of public service for the City of Phoenix and a Certified Public Manager designation from ASU, Christine is committed to serving others. She looks forward to contributing her unique perspective and skills to the Tolleson City Council, ensuring the community is represented and residents feel at home. Inspired by Gandhi’s words, "Be the change you wish to see in the world," Christine invites all to help shape a brighter, more inclusive future for Tolleson.
