Exciting News from Tolleson City Council: Welcoming Cruzita Mendoza as the Newest Council Member
Tolleson, September 6, 2023— The Tolleson City Council is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in its continued dedication to serving the community. Following an impressive turnout of 12 dedicated applicants, all vying to fill the vacant seat left by the late Council Member Albert Mendoza, the Council is proud to introduce Cruzita Mendoza as the newest member of its distinguished panel.
Cruzita Mendoza's lifelong commitment to the community, coupled with her extensive professional experience, makes her a standout choice for the role. Her journey in Tolleson began as a student at Tolleson Elementary, where she later graduated from Tolleson High School. Over the years, she has held diverse roles within the community, including part-time positions at businesses that are now closed and the current ownership of a successful barber shop.
Cruzita's dedication to public service is further demonstrated through her employment history, having worked at the Tolleson Elementary District Office, the former Tolleson City Hall in the water and police departments, and currently at the Tolleson High School District Office in the role of Facilities Management Supervisor. In this capacity, Cruzita manages a team of approximately 105 employees, overseeing various aspects of facilities management, from personnel and budget management to procurement and vendor communication.
Speaking about her commitment to the community, Cruzita Mendoza shared, "My interest in serving this community is to practice the role of an advocate for all community members. If I can contribute and make a little difference, that is reason enough to be honored to serve in this capacity."
The Tolleson City Council is confident that Cruzita's breadth of experience, leadership skills, and passion for community advocacy will be invaluable in guiding the city towards growth and prosperity. Her expertise in personnel management, procurement processes, budget oversight, and customer service aligns seamlessly with the council's mission to provide effective governance and responsive representation.
As we warmly welcome Cruzita Mendoza to her new role, the Tolleson City Council invites the community to unite in support of her endeavors.
