Field Operations Director  Jamie McCracken

Jamie McCracken joined the City of Tolleson in 2016 as the Field Operations Director. Areas of responsibility for the Department include Aquatics, Grounds, Facilities, Fleet, Parks, Streets, Traffic Operations and Transit. The Department also provides support for the City’s many events, including the community’s fight against COVID-19.

Prior to relocating back to Arizona, Jamie previously worked as the Field Services Superintendent for the Town of Castle Rock, Colorado. There, he had a variety of responsibilities that ranged anywhere from water utilities to help manage the Town’s snow plowing and removal program, despite having grown up in sunny Arizona. Overall, Jamie has been in Public Works/Utilities since 2006 and has served communities from 5,000 to over 120,000 people.  

Jamie is currently in the final year of his Doctoral degree in Business Administration at Grand Canyon University. He holds his Master’s in Business Administration from West Texas A&M University, a Bachelor’s in Operations Management from Arizona State University, and an Associate’s in Water Technologies from Gateway Community College. Additionally, Jamie is recognized as a Certified Public Manager and holds the highest state certification in all four disciplines of water and wastewater.

When it comes to management style, Jamie has a strong people-centered approach with an emphasis on communication. He is a firm believer that by empowering and supporting people, a team’s diverse backgrounds and expertise can be best utilized, which will ultimately provide the most effective and efficient services possible to the community. This philosophy has led to his teams often being recognized for their efforts both statewide and nationally. 

In his personal time, Jamie and his wife like to spend time outdoors with their two fast-growing children.
